Monday Musings:

My best hatOver the weekend I realized that my husband has discovered many of the YouTube channels that I’ve been watching for several months. I’m not sure he began watching them for quite the same reasons as I did. He seems to have discovered L.A. Marzulli. When I discovered his YouTube channel I started watching because he does the Ancient Aliens topics from a Christian Biblical perspective. It was refreshing to hear an actual researcher espousing what I had been saying to myself while watching the interesting things in Ancient Aliens. I always enjoyed that show. You get to see the mysterious things around the world that I personally will never have the resources to visit. I never agreed with their alien theories and the age of the universe assumptions or the obviously evolutionist theory conclusions. Still it was and still is an interesting program to watch on the History channel. Although at this point I would much rather watch L.A. Marzulli’s take. The problem for me is that to view his Watcher series full length videos I will have to fork out money that at this time I simply can’t afford to buy.  (Any family out there willing to chip in for Christmas present for mom?)

Then there is Josh Tolley, I like his program although my husband thinks there is just too much talking before getting to the meat of the subject. I’m not sure what he expects from the YouTube video of a radio talk show. Josh covered both the republican and democratic national conventions this year. His comparative summary was quite interesting.

I think my husband first found BPearthwatch because I was showing him one of the videos and he was interested because of the scientific approach used. We enjoy BP’s commentary on world events particularly in regard to his monitoring the geological and astronomical events through the various official web sites such as NOAA, USGS, and others. BPearthwatch is relatively accurate in predicting the path and strength of a hurricane before landfall. He tells us the effect of solar activity on earth as well as volcanic and earthquake activity then tells how these things correspond with Biblical descriptions of the end time.

My husband has even found Jacob Israel in his Jacob’s Ladder YouTube channel. Sometimes I think he’s a bit on the fringe side of Christian thinking when it comes to things that are going on. One of the phenomenon which he discusses is something I question the validity and that is the “Mandela Effect.” In the list of things that seem to have changed, I remember much of those things the way they are now and others I don’t have a memory one way or the other because I simply wasn’t paying attention at the time. My daughter has an example that she herself is positive the Mandela Effect is real, but, I’m still not convinced. I do remember once in regard to my daughter’s example discovering that I was saying it wrong all along and was surprised. That was way back when she was a child and we had those books, but, I don’t remember what the actual spelling was at the time.  My thought on the whole subject is that we remember things wrong because someone, maybe even ourselves, was wrong to begin with. Like the Monopoly guy, I think we are deluded into thinking he looked more like the Planters peanut guy because both were prominent at the same time in advertizing and we get our images confused.  It’s just part of being a fallible human.

Then there is one of my favorite alternative news sources, Israeli News Live with Steven Ben DeNoon. He has a perspective on what is happening in Europe and the Middle East that isn’t found in the mainstream media. His Biblical perspective is primarily aimed at the Jewish people who are still seeking the Messiah so Steven’s ministry is to help Jews recognize that Jesus is Messiah and He is returning soon.

Hopefully this week will begin to take on a regular schedule again. It won’t be like it was before because of the newborn in the house. Still even a new schedule is better than no schedule at all. We’ve never been a regimented family, but, school and work schedules helped to delineate time frames. Last week there was just too much going on to be anything but stressful. This week the pace is slower, all those employed are back to their daily work schedules and all the rest of us have to be concerned with is getting the kids off to school on time. Maybe now I can be more diligent in getting some things done that I’ve delayed completing.

Have a blessed week!

About grandmapeachy

I am a retired grandmother and amateur quilter. Generally I do not discuss religion and politics with people other than my family and even then I do more listening than talking. Because I dislike confrontation this blog is a way for me to express opinions that I hold on these and other issues without having to delve into controversial discussions with others who may not agree with me. I am also an avid supporter of indie authors. There are a lot of great books that are not available through traditional publishing and I believe that these stories need to be brought to the attention of the reading public.
