End Times Discussions Abound

My best hatLately I’ve been catching up on what the Christian world is saying about the signs of the times. Most of them from Chuck Missler of Koinonia House, to Stephen Ben Nun of Israeli News Live, to L. A. Marzulli, to Sid Roth of It’s Supernatural are all saying recent worldwide events indicate the signs that Yeshua told His disciples to look for. There are a few out there who are a little out in the ozone, but credible ones are all saying the same thing, the end times are getting near.

I’ve thought for a long time that the UFO and other phenomena of a supernatural  nature are real but not at all related to aliens, unless you consider that fallen angels are actually extraterrestrials. After all they came from the heavenly kingdom, a dimension quite different from the one we live in, which is just a shadow of the heavenly realm. Christians who pooh-pooh the notion of supernatural things happening must not read their Bibles because it is full of supernatural events. The parting of the Red Sea, talking donkeys, angels and a stairway to heaven appearing to Jacob, Sarah birthing a child in her 90’s, the walls of Jericho falling without a single weapon or battering ram, water from a rock, the plagues of Egypt, a virgin conception, water into wine, walking on water, multiplying a small amount of food to feed thousands and have more left over than what they originally had, the miraculous healings, the dead brought back to life, demons exorcised and put into a herd of swine, translocation, all these things and more. The apostles were told that they would do even more than Yeshua himself had done. I believe that He didn’t limit those supernatural acts to just those men but to all of His followers into the future up to and including now.

Listening to commentators on world events sure does seem like the birth pangs of the tribulation yet to come. I’m not sure I would take some of the actions around the world as far as some do in applying them to Biblical prophesy, but I am open minded about it and will just wait and see what develops.

There is one opinion that I specifically see as cogent. That is that the  spirit of Ahab and Jezebel controls our government. Probably even the governments of many nations. But, in the case of the United States it is evident. Ahab did evil in the eyes of the Lord, he married Jezebel who killed the prophets of God and incited Ahab to do evil, he worshipped the pagan god Baal. Baal worship was steeped in sexual immorality and included ritual prostitution. (1) The sexual permissiveness of our culture and the legislation protecting alternative lifestyles and even promoting it among our children is a real indicator of that spirit of Ahab and Jezebel. I believe that the government should not become involved in any of this, it is a smoke screen to divert our attentions from the real issues of this society.

Christians are increasingly being silenced by the ever expanding political correctness that has infiltrated our nation. There is evidence that Christians will ultimately be persecuted though for now what we experience is more like a flea bite rather than the rending by a savage beast as it is in other parts of the world. Anyone can express whatever negative opinions they hold about Christians without any retribution, but let Christians say anything negative about the religions or morality of those they do not agree with and it is bigotry, hatred and racism. Now granted I see a lot of phariseeism among Christians, radicals that hold to the letter of the law and fail to operate in the Spirit of the Living God. But even I, who believe the whole Word of God yet love all His people, even those who do not know Him, even I, would be labeled a bigot by expressing my full opinion based on my Biblical knowledge and beliefs. Maybe Yahweh will punish me for some of my opinions because I’m not the radical that some are, but, then again, I am not one to bring attention to my righteousness when I know just how sinful a person I am on the inside.  I may be guilty of many things but bless God, phariseeism, I hope, is not one of them.  I give Yahweh glory for all the wonderful blessings He has bestowed upon me. I am unworthy of the blessings, but, He loves me so much that He has blessed me anyway.

It could be that we are approaching the end times, I don’t know for sure that the reports of events globally is due to an increase in the signs Yeshua told us to look for or if because of instant communication worldwide we are more informed. in either case I will continue to worship Yehova God Yahweh and His Son Yeshua, my redeemer and live my life loving His people as He commissioned me, as though He is returning any day now. I will fear no evil for He is with me always even to the end of the age.

Blessings!

About grandmapeachy

I am a retired grandmother and amateur quilter. Generally I do not discuss religion and politics with people other than my family and even then I do more listening than talking. Because I dislike confrontation this blog is a way for me to express opinions that I hold on these and other issues without having to delve into controversial discussions with others who may not agree with me. I am also an avid supporter of indie authors. There are a lot of great books that are not available through traditional publishing and I believe that these stories need to be brought to the attention of the reading public.
