Book Review: Ascension Within by Julie Nicholls

I recieved copy of Ascension Within by Julie Nicholls to read and review. This book is the third of her Fallen Angels series and the continuing story of Kia and Eloise. At the end of book two, Angel Within, Kia disappeared into the underworld with the Demon Samyaza. In this third book, Eloise makes plans to rescue Kia, with the help of the Angel Anael. Anael and Nivel, a dark angel, are playing a game that began many years ago and the prize for the winner is the souls of mankind. There are plots and schemes on both sides and the witch Jana is helping Nivel, but has plans of her own. Secrets are revealed to Eloise by Anael about both her and Kia, secrets that upset Eloise.

Ascension Within cover Julie NichollsThere is a lot of action in the story and it kept my rapt attention throughout the entire series. Suspenseful and captivating Ascension Within is well written with well developed characters that you can identify with and an intriguing plot to keep you engaged. I read the book straight through because I couldn’t put it down. The series needs to be read from the beginning to get the full story. This book by itself would not be fully understood without reading Demon Within and Angel Within first.

As in all books in this series there are some steamy sex scenes, but they fit into the story well and are tastefully written. The book is for adults 18 and over for graphic sex scenes. I give Ascension Within a five star rating for plot, character development and for being a well edited volume.

You can find Ms. Nicholls books on Amazon.

About grandmapeachy

I am a retired grandmother and amateur quilter. Generally I do not discuss religion and politics with people other than my family and even then I do more listening than talking. Because I dislike confrontation this blog is a way for me to express opinions that I hold on these and other issues without having to delve into controversial discussions with others who may not agree with me. I am also an avid supporter of indie authors. There are a lot of great books that are not available through traditional publishing and I believe that these stories need to be brought to the attention of the reading public.
